Introduction
Bank Hapoalim serves over 2 million customers
Bank Hapoalim's Innovation Division is the largest banking innovation center in Israel. In my role as Product Designer, I was responsible for the User Experience and User Interface design in the Capital Market mobile application. My focus was to create friendly, intuitive, and delightful interfaces, resulting in a fundamental increase in business results.

03
User Flow
App Goals
The primary user flow integrates core functionalities such as real-time tracking of current investments, as well as immediate and strategic buying and selling of securities.
The black-framed shapes in the user flow represent the screens I have designed, which are detailed further in this project.
04
The challenge
The previous version of the capital market app was geared towards performing purely for operations, with the premise that the users would do the research from the computer.
In user tests, the feedback received from customers was that they wanted to get more information through the mobile app, so that they could carry out the investigation on a regular basis from the mobile. As a result, the vision of the capital market app, “a mobile broker in a traders’ pocket” was formed.
05
The solutions
Pre-Market trading
Add an option for the user to join early trading outside of regular trading hours.
Pre-Market trading
Add a table view to get a broad perspective of the traded stocks and the option to customize the data displayed in the table.
Information layers
Add an option to view the stock's layering, which was previously possible on desktop only.
Instructions cancelation
Improve the screen for canceling smart instructions in terms of function and design.
Instructions cancelation
Update the visual language of the app in terms of illustrations and addressing users.
06
Pre-Market
App Goals
Pre-market trading in stocks occurs from 4 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. EST, and after-hours trading on a day with a normal session takes place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.3 Many retail brokers offer to trade during these sessions but may limit the types of orders that can be used.
Usually, trading during these hours is characterized by low turnover and higher differences between buyer and seller than trading during regular hours. However, the closer the hour is to the set trading hours, the more minor the differences.
07
Custom table view
The Goal
Allow users to get a broad picture of the shares from the mobile phone, while also allowing them to customize their most relevant information.
Behavior
The selection in the table will be saved for the next time a customer connects from the same device.
Tooltips - will appear twice.
The symbol column - the first one on the right is sticky and always displays the names of the traded shares, even when the user is scrolling horizontally.
Clicking the symbol will open an expanded tab of the stock.
Column width is fixed, in multi-character numbers situation the font size will be reduced.
08
Information layers
The Goals
- Emphasize the critical information and minimize the less important information.
- Adding information and details to the screen while maintaining the simplicity and cleanliness of the screen by dividing it into hierarchies.
09
Smart instructions cancelation
Before
The instructions can only be set on the desktop, but the cancellation can be implemented immediately through the application.
After the user cancels the smart instructions, he gets written proof for his action with the reference number and date.
Redesign goals
Emphasize the critical information and minimize the less important information.
adding information and details to the screen while maintaining the simplicity and cleanliness of the screen by dividing it into hierarchies.
Upgrade the screen visibility, and bring the design language closer to the bank's account management app.
09
Visual & illustrations
Before
The user got popups mostly on error situations. The same icon was used for a variety of situations. As a result, popups can call the user into stressful situations.
Design goals
Transition from monochromatic and wired visibility to color illustrations with volume (fills).
Switching from a colder look to a closer look while maintaining a mature and dignified look.
Add animations - to enhance the user delight experience.
Renewal overall visibility for an accurate and innovative clean design using neomorphism.
